From 1985 to the middle 90s we restored a Jaguar XJ V12 Coupe which became very successful in concours competitions winning the Jaguar Driver’s Club premier competition ‘Champion of Champions’ trophy in 1996, 2001 & 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also competed in the Autoglym national concours competition being crowned UK Champion in 1997 & 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keeping a car up to this level required huge work and commitment but assistance came in 2007 when, as part of the winning prize in the Autoglym national series, we received a Cair-O-Port air chamber donated by Hamilton Classics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to storing the car in the Cair-O Port it had been necessary to remove and re-plate all of the metal pipework & fastenings in the engine bay every 18-24 months to maintain this top concours standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amazingly, the air chamber storage stopped the gradual decline in the metal finish and from 2007 through to 2021 when we sold the car no further re-plating was necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We firmly believe that this method of storage is the best way to maintain condition by removing the threat posed by condensation to the metal surfaces of the vehicle, especially the unseen areas inside the panels and box sections etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
